Windsurfers

This painting recreates an experience I had one stormy March day .  The rough surf had churned up so much sand that both water and froth were saturated with an opaque tan color, but in painting this I had to tone down that odd color because it simply wouldn't read properly as water.  The Bonaparte's gulls were there however, appearing quite at home despite their delicate form.
